Information about the Allotments

Clifton (Without) and Rawcliffe Allotments Association manages the allotment garden located on Shipton Road in York. We have 80 plots, some divided into half plots for those looking for a little less! We have been on our current site since 1995. Before this the allotments were on land between Rawcliffe Lane, by the library and Shipton Road, below East Cottages, now a housing estate.

The allotments are located next to Clifton Park Hospital, and we are grateful to NHS Estates for the ongoing lease of the land. We are an independent Allotment Association, unlike the majority of local allotments which belong to York Council  www.yorkallotments.org. Although we are independent, we are supported by the of Rawcliffe and Clifton (Without) Parish Councils.

We have approximately 100 members. There is currently a waiting list for allotment plots and this can, like many associations be quite lengthy. Whilst there is a waiting list, applications are restricted to residents of the Clifton (Without) and Rawcliffe Parishes.
